Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball

Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball

As a member of Game Media with Next Level Gaming, I remember not only seeing this game at the booth at E3 2005, but I played it on the floor. Being a huge baseball fan I was quite excited about the games release for the Nintendo GameCube. The game looked great and played well.

Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball was officially licensed by Major League Baseball, featuring all American League and National League teams and ballparks.

Some of the game modes included a “Rookie of the Year” mode. The mode allowed you to create a baseball player and join one of the MLB teams of your choice.

According to the 30-30 club, The play-by-play commentator was going to be the Seattle Mariners broadcaster Rick Rizzs. The color commentator was former Diamondbacks manager and then-Cubs broadcaster Bob Brenly. The stadium announcer was Seattle Mariners announcer Tom Hutyler.

According to an interview with the game’s senior engineer Steve Snake, Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball was “completed and passed submission, but was not released.”

Nintendo of America announced on June 13th, 2005 that the game was delayed indefinitely.
